Facilities Information

The Canmore Folk Music Festival takes place in Centennial Park in the heart of downtown Canmore. A large flat field, the site includes a large number of tall, lodgepole pines around the main stage area that provide shade during the day and protection from rain should the weather gods decide to give us that for the weekend. The majority of the site, however, is open field, so please bring what you need for rain or shine.

Information Booth/Lost and Found
In the centre of the Festival park you will find an Information/Lost and Found booth clearly marked as such. If you require assistance on site, ask a festival volunteer in one of the official festival T-shirts. Security personnel can be identified by their red T-shirts.

Emergency and First Aid
Contact the information booth or a security volunteer. St. John Ambulance personnel are on duty for the duration of the festival in a First Aid tent near the permanent washrooms.

Fifth Street Closure
The stretch of Fifth Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues is closed throughout the festival to all vehicles except those with authorized parking passes distributed to performers, vendors, key committee members and residents on that street. There are no exceptions.

Disabled Access and Drop-off
Handicapped parking is provided along Sixth Street by the main gate and is clearly marked as such. Special areas are set aside to the rear of the main stage area for wheelchair patrons, and the permanent washrooms on site are wheelchair accessible. Because of the flat nature of the grounds, most people with mobility issues have little to no difficulty navigating the terrain.

Merchandise
CDs by performers are available at the merchandise booth, along with a selection of T-shirts and other festival items. Cash, Visa, MasterCard accepted.

Toilets
Permanent washrooms with hot and cold running water are located near the Fifth Street fence, behind the main stage seating area. Portable washrooms are situated beside those, with temporary hand sanitizing stations.

Water
Potable water is available on site at a tap located near the permanent washrooms and the St. John Ambulance site. Hot and cold potable water is available within the permanent washrooms as well.

ATM
An automatic teller is located on site at the side of the permanent washroom building. Off-site there are ATMs for the Bow Valley Credit Union, Bank of Montreal and the CIBC a block away on Main Street. The Royal Bank and Scotia Bank are located on Railway Avenue. A TD Green Machine can be found on Bow Valley Trail near the Mac’s Store.

Bikes
Bicycle parking is provided just inside the main gate, in a well-marked space between two of the school portables. Please lock your bike, as this area is not patrolled by Security staff. Please do not lock your bike to the park fence.

Kids’ Stuff
The Festival’s Family Area is open Sunday until 5 p.m. and Monday until 4 p.m., closing when the main stage evening concert begins. All activities there are free of charge for festival attendees. There are two playgrounds on site that are open throughout the festival: a tot lot for wee ones is located adjacent to the Family Area, and a multi-faceted playground for older kids is found at the corner of Seventh Street and Fifth Avenue. These playgrounds are not supervised by Festival staff or volunteers.
