Who We Are
|
"Canmore's appetite for music led to the formation of the Canmore Folk and Blues Club
in the early 1970s". The Club was incorporated under the Societies Act on May 6th, 1975.
It is a Registered Charity, #0857516-22. The Club, through the Canmore Folk Music Festival
and its outreach program in the local schools, achieves its goals and objectives to:
- educate and cultivate an appreciation for, and enjoyment
of, the folk music of Canada and other countries
- educate and provide opportunities for children to become
familiar with folk music and the musical instruments of many countries
- provide opportunities for national and international folk
performers to become known in the area
- stimulate international understanding through a common
interest in folk music
