Seth Anderson

About

Seth Anderson is a singer-songwriter whose music  blends alt-country, dream-folk, and the spirit of rock and roll into honest, heart-driven storytelling. Born and raised in Hartland, New Brunswick, and now based in the Canadian Rockies of Canmore, Alberta, Seth draws from years on the road—across towns, cities, and continents—to write songs rooted in love, loss, resilience, and hope. With a delivery that’s both vulnerable and fierce, Seth's live shows are known for their emotional intensity and raw authenticity, earning him a dedicated following throughout Canada, the U.S., and Europe.

In the summer of 2023, Seth entered the studio with Lydia Loveless in Columbus, Ohio to create his 4th full length album, released on October 14th, 2025.  Possibly his most precise and inspired songwriting do date.

"Music so meaningful, you'll bite your lip to hold back the tears. Stories so personal, you'll feel like you know him well. And an album so exact and peaceful, I couldn't be prouder to tell people he's Canadian" ~ Taron Cochrane,  CBC Saskatchewan

“There’s a lived-in stillness that runs through These Exact Days, These Peaceful Nights, the new album from Canmore, Alberta–based songwriter Seth Anderson. It’s a record about change, solitude, and the slow work of finding peace within yourself.
Written in the heart of the pandemic and recorded in Columbus, Ohio with Lydia Loveless, Anderson’s fourth full-length captures an artist in the midst of transformation, raw, reflective, and newly sure of his voice.

From its opening notes, the record hums with the spirit of the prairies and the punk roots that shaped Anderson’s early years, a blend of folk storytelling and indie grit, for fans of Kurt Vile, Jackson Brown, The Weakerthans, and Frank Turner." -Small Fry Music

These Exact Days, These Peaceful Nights follows 2020’s full-length album We Could Be. (Snappy Little Numbers), produced in collaboration with Eamon McGrath and a standout cast of Canadian musicians. It captures the duality of full-band energy and stripped-down acoustic intimacy.

His past releases include 2016's One Week Record with Joey Cape (Lagwagon) released by his label, later released on vinyl via the UK’s Little Rocket Records, and self-released Rocky Town Heartache (2011). Over the past 20 years, Seth has toured extensively with artists such as Off With Their Heads, Joey Cape, Chris Cresswell, Jon Snodgrass (Drag the River), and Chuck Ragan,  building a reputation for deeply human, emotionally charged live shows.
Music from Seth's latest release has been featured on radio across Canada (CKUA, CBC and more), North Americana on SiriusXM, and featured on SportsNet Podcast "32 Thoughts".
