The Canmore Folk Music Festival is Alberta's longest-running folk festival — a nearly 50-year-old tradition held every August long weekend in the heart of the Rockies, drawing over 5,000 people a day to experience local, national, and international artists in one of the most beautiful settings in the country. Founded in 1978 by a group of passionate volunteers, we've grown from a small community gathering into one of Western Canada's premier folk festivals, while staying true to our roots in accessibility, inclusivity, and artistic excellence.
