Who We Are

The Canmore Folk Music Festival Society, quickly approaching its 50th anniversary, is the longest running music festival in Alberta. We are a not-for- profit charitable society and our annual Festival is a significant contributor to the Bow Valley economy. We also organize other community events throughout the year and support music education and artist development in the Bow Valley.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking volunteer candidates for the Board of Directors, ideally with past board and governance experience. We are also looking for people with backgrounds in law, finance and accounting to help us navigate an increasingly complex operating environment. Experience in human resources and fund raising would also be beneficial.Board members are expected to attend roughly 10 Board meetings per year. In addition each Board member is expected to be a member of a Board Standing Committee and be actively engaged in the Society’s annual festival and activities.
